Information for prospective PhD students, undergraduate researchers, postdocs, and collaborators.

Opportunities

PhD applicants

Doctoral admissions are handled through the UC Berkeley EECS graduate application. Apply through EECS and note faculty of interest in your application.

Research fit

Strong candidates typically have depth in systems, networking, architecture, or adjacent theory with an interest in practical system design and deployable ideas.

Collaboration

We work with researchers who bridge theory and implementation and who are excited by long-horizon infrastructure problems.

For Berkeley undergraduates

If you are a Berkeley undergraduate interested in doing research with the lab, a good first step is to read a few recent publications and get a feel for the kinds of problems we work on. Once you have finished the CS 61 series, and ideally have taken and done well in at least one upper-division systems class such as CS 162, feel free to reach out to a PhD student or faculty member whose work aligns with your interests.
